We are a 501(c)(3) public charity using the transformative power of creativity and convening to advance individual and collective health and wellbeing.

We partner with artists, organizers, health professionals, and communities to make the conditions that create health visible, felt, and actionable.

The name novellawells honors two women whose lives embody its purpose. Novella is the founder's mother, who at 90 remains vibrant, focused, and full of possibility. Wells honors Ida B. Wells, whose fearless use of evidence, storytelling, and public action changed what the nation could see and challenged it to act.
